As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the aviation experience, we made significant upgrades in 2024 to our main hangar and airfield surface, elevating the safety, convenience, and functionality of our airport.

Our mission is to share the wonder of general aviation with our community, and these improvements are designed to enrich that experience. The main hangar now boasts a modernized look, featuring enhanced outdoor amenities to better serve pilots and aircraft owners. Alongside these upgrades, the airfield surface has undergone a comprehensive resurfacing, ensuring a smoother, safer experience for taxiing, aircraft parking, and overall airfield operations.

These exterior improvements mark the completion of the first phase in a multi-phase plan to further enhance the entryway and facilities at Downtown Island Airport. Looking ahead, we are excited to launch the next phase in 2025, which will focus on updating the main entrance to the airport.
